The Forpaws grooming salon ethics are derived from typical family pet needs. Put another way, a dog that spends his or her days happily rolling around in the garden is more likely to need a practical clip than a show cut. Our grooming salon aims to provide customers with what they request and also guide those customers that are first time owners and new to the dog world. A trip to the grooming salon is as much a ritual to the modern day civilized dog as is going to the hairdressers for many humans. Owners can become very selective about their dog’s groomer as they are about their own hair stylist.

Grooming and clipping of dogs, is not just a question of technique, but also requires an artistic eye to ensure that the form and lines of each dog are brought out. Here at Forpaws we hand pick and train our own staff to ensure that the high standards required are achieved by each groomer. The only limitations are normally due to mischievous dogs that aren’t willing to cooperate, for example dogs that don’t like their paws touched or their heads brushed. On rare occasions if coaxing doesn’t do the trick we have to remind ourselves that we are dog groomers NOT magicians.

Dog Grooming has four main steps that are applicable to most types of dog, these consist of:

  • Brushing or combing
  • Bathing
  • Blow drying
  • Nail Clipping

These are carried out, as standard, on all dogs visiting the grooming salon. Customers may also request their chosen style of coat clipping as suitable for their dog, full advice is available upon request.

Dogs grooming prices vary depending on the size of the dog and the length and coat condition.

Standard prices for bath and nails 

Short / smooth coated dogs: £12.00 - £16.00

Full coat grooming prices

Small dogs: £22.00 - £28.00
Medium dogs: £25.00 - £35.00
Large dogs: £35.00 - £55.00
